CLOSED LUBE SYSTEM Closing your equipment to contamination from outside atmosphere is the most effective way to eliminate harmful contaminates from entering your system. The Closed Lube System consists of four (4) vital components. Frequent operation start-ups and environmental temperature swings in mechanical equipment can cause the air pressure inside oil sumps to increase causing it to "breathe". This "breathing" air, comes from the external atmosphere through vents, fill ports, seals, and anywhere the oil sump is open to atmosphere. This can cause debris, dirt, and moisture to enter the equipment attaching and breaking down the equipment’s vital lubricant and ultimately reducing the life of bearings and gears. The Expansion Chamber eliminates the "breathing" action by replacing the vent. When properly sized it will maintain oil housing pressure at or near zero PSI, thereby reducing pressure and will extend seal life and help prevent leakage.
The Closed System Oiler prevents contamination and spillage of your lubricant. A port is provided for a vent line back to the housing to allow pressure balancing between the oiler and the housing. The Watchdog Oil Dryer is ideal for applications where moisture condensation must be minimized. Isomag Seals are an essential for any application, but are particularly suited for closed systems. Most oil housing seals only seal the oil from leaking, but do not prevent outside contamination from entering the housing and doing serious damage to the bearings. Because Isomag uses mechanical seal faces, the stationary face is designed to float, constantly tracking the rotating face and forgiving misalignment. The entire Isomag assembly is durable by design and the unique materials of construction withstand years of harsh environments and repeated handling.
